The pergola is perpendicular to the main axis of the garden and connects Long View and the Sunny Frames area. It also forms one wall of the Pool Garden. The oculus in the pergola, at this season not yet fully defined by the growth of the golden hops, allows a full view along the major long axis of the garden.
